wandering

A drive out in the country to relax, pray, and shoot.

I am in love with the Midwest.

Never thought I would say that.

voila’

It seems like summer just got here and, shazam…it’s gone.

All of a sudden various living things are flying south or hunkering down in the newfound chill.  Our squirrels have been busier than usual, digging, finding, running around frantically, trying to get ready for winter.  Occasionally, they even grace us by dropping random sticks on our heads.

Yes, we have a lot of squirrels, ya’ll.

The leaves are falling, mostly of their own volition and there is a “gracious almighty!” type of weather here today.  Mind-bogglingly gorgeous.

So, I shall savor and enjoy the loss of one season and the gain of another.

And so it goes.

more clearing out

All this week has been a continuation of the summer.  Basically, sorting, prioritizing, and letting go.

Of junk.  All kinds of junk.

The thing I love about photography?  I never feel like I need to do that with photos.  Photos are something you keep.  Unless, of course, it was an unintentional shot of Uncle Bert’s toenail fungus during a family reunion.  That you could probably let go.  Or not.  Whatever floats your boat.

Anyway,  I love perusing old, forgotten photo files to find out what I may have forgotten.  And sometimes I find things that just make me so happy to be amongst God’s great creation.

Last year I shot these and it’s making me very antsy for October.  Can.  Not.  Wait.
